Does anyone know the official release date of the 2009 Penny? When can we buy it or pre-order it online from usmint.gov?
The first design will be released on February 12, 2009, which is the 200th Anniversary of Lincoln's birth.
No word yet on 2009 Lincoln Cent US Mint products.
I feel left out in the cold! Why in the world are a few select people able to get the new Lincoln Cent rolls and sell them on auctions at such high prices when the general public can't get the coins? This is really a bad thing that has happened to the general public, when the only way to get the roll of new Lincoln Cents is to buy them on ebay for $40 to $60 a roll. Why are these coins not available to the rest of the country? This is just not fair to all the other states in the Union.
WHY WAS THIS COIN NOT RELEASED TO THE WHOULE COUNTRY? WHY DID ONLY A FEW PEOPLE GET THE CHANCE TO RECEIVE THIS COIN BY THE ROLL/BOX AND THE REST OF THE COUNTRY HAS TO BUY THEM ON EBAY TO GET THEM AND PAY $40 TO $60 FOR A 50 CENT ROLL OF PENNYS. THIS WAS ONLY GOOD FOR THE FEW PEOPLE WHO COULD GET THE COINS, NOW THE REST OF US HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE IF THE PRICE WILL COME DOWN. HOPEFULLY YOU RELEASE THE COIN TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY SOON. THIS WAS A MAJOR RIP OFF TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY.

I have read all the Blogs and all I seem to hear is complaining. The Mint is releasing The New Lincoln Cents and The Ceremony is open to the public. If you go to the event, you too can get these coins at face value.
If you had any idea how much work it is to have a seller account on eBay or to have to pay the fees accociated with selling coins, You too would try to get as much as one can. These coins are going to be a collectors piece and I want to be a part of it.
These coins will sellout as soon as they get listed for sale at the U.S. Mint. I'll make sure I have my sets for sale on eBay.
What happened to the minting of lincoln cents with Victor Brenner's original relief and Design? I thought that was part in legislation for 2009 lincoln cent. Nobody's talking about that proposal and is concernced about aquiring low quality over-priced, over-minted low relief cents. Who cares. you'll get them when you get them. Don't hand your money over to dealers. There will be plenty to go around forever, especially in MS69 and MS70. Save your money for a real rare coin.
