2011 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set
The United States Mint will begin sales of the 2011 Presidential Dollars Uncirculated Set on April 27, 2011 at 12:00 Noon ET. The coins included in this year's set feature Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, and James Garfield.
One example from the US Mint facilities at Philadelphia and Denver are included for each release, for a total of eight coins. These are mounted in an illustrated folder that includes biographical information for each President.
The front of the folder is slightly modified from the design used for 2007 to 2010 sets, in order to incorporate the US Mint's new branding. The four sections including portraits of each president are reduced slightly in size and a black bar is added at the bottom with the US Mint logo and Treasury Department seal.
Each set is priced at $19.95 plus applicable shipping and handling. This is an increase of $1 from last year's comparable product.
While it is not specified in the press release or preliminary product page, presumably these uncirculated coins carry the "brilliant finish" used for the 2011 Uncirculated Mint Set. Last year, a satin finish was used for the annual mint set and Presidential Dollar Uncirculated Set.
The 2010-dated set went on sale more than a year ago. Through the most recent sales report, the US Mint has sold 95,254 units. In the prior year, the 2009-dated set had last reported sales of 105,059 units.

Set actual worth now and in years to come: $8
I like these, some dealers sell the 07's for outrageous prices. These are good for grandchildren to learn about the Presidents. I'm getting 1.
Although I don't care for another product having the black bar added here as well. They can't or won't leave anything alone.
Silver is down boys?whtas up with that
I found 5-07 sets I forgot I bought. Those are nice with the unc. silver eagle. Does anyone remember what those sold for. It seems like they were around $26.
For people like myself, who can not aford the bullion offerings from the mint, the Presidential $1 Coin UC Sets, and the clad and medals side of the house is as far as my collecting will ever go.
Long live clad!
The infamous Black Bar is only slightly less intrusive on this product than it was on the Johnson coin cover. Here, at least, it follows the flow of the horizontal bars. On the coin covers, it looks damn ugly and out of place. The black might grab your attention, but it makes the Mint products appear dead and unappealing. The Silver Proof Set, the Proof Set, and the single, 4-coin Presidential Proof set; dead black boxes. Nothing about them says, "Look inside to see something great!"
I've said it before - a pound of poop wrapped in fancy paper is still a pound of poop!! If the Mint wants to see renewed interest and increased sales, then they need to create some attention-grabbing, quality products that justify the sales prices and are deserving of our hard-earned money. If I want variety in my wrapping paper, I'll go to the Mall!!
Those were not the presidential sets for $26, but the uncirulated dollar sets which included the Sacagawea dollar as well. They were in that $26-$31 range and it appaers they will make them again this year in the fall.
Yes, I know its very off topic, but with gold a bit over $1500, can we expect to see price increases tomorrow morning from the Mint??
A price increase is tough to predict at the moment.
As of this AM, the working average is +$16, so between this afternoon and tomorrow we will need to see a close and an open at or below $1492 (or equivilant -$16) that also are supported by a downward trend at the Wednesday close.
The limited number of data points caused by the holiday closures actually work in our favor and, at the moment, Au is below $1500 with a slight downward trend. Still early, though.
London closed this afternoon at $1497.50.
In order to stay in the current tier, the Wednesday AM open must be at or below $1486.50 and maintain the trend. Gonna be tough, although we might see some overnight market manipulation in advance of the Fed Mtg on Wednesday.
Man, I hope it stays down long enough to avoid the increase. Still, we have one more week to get through before Eliza Johnson goes on sale.
I received my ATB set from Jack Hunt today....they are in NGC holders...Gem Uncirculated, Early Releases.
Not bad for $949
"In order to stay in the current tier, the Wednesday AM open must be at or below $1486.50"
I don't think that is true. If spot is under $1500, prices will not change even if average was higher.
Anyone heard a peep from CNT since they sent money, now almost a month ago?
"I don't think that is true. If spot is under $1500, prices will not change even if average was higher."
This is why both criteria are important - as we learned the hard way last year. An open at or below the $1486.50 locks in the current tier regardless of the afternoon trend.
Anything above that amount will establish the average in the next tier. If that is followed by an upward trend into, and the market closes above $1500, the Mint will increase their pricing to the next tier.
Talked to CNT about an hour ago. They checked my name and told me it was shipping April 27th.
Too bad they didn't continue the satin finish on this set at least it would gave them some value. I agree with the first post: $8
