US Mint Coin Production November 2010
United States Mint circulating coin production figures have been updated through November 2010. Final or preliminary mintages have also been made available for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Dollar and Mount Hood National Forest Quarter.
During November 2010, the US Mint struck 531.46 million coins for circulation at the Philadelphia and Denver facilities. This represents a decline of about 200 million from the prior month and the lowest monthly production since April.
The table below presents the breakdown of circulating coins produced for November, along with total production levels for the year to date.

Only cents, nickels, and dimes were produced this month, with no production reported for the other denominations.
For the year to date, the Mint has struck 487.20 million Jefferson Nickels across both facilities compared to just 86.64 million in the prior year. Year to date production for Roosevelt Dimes has now reached 1,105.50 million, compared to 146.00 million in the prior year.
Year to date production of Lincoln Cents now approaches the 4 billion mark. The smallest denomination accounts for 62.8% of the US Mint's total circulating coin production for this year.
Updates have been made to the breakdown of circulating coin production figures by design. Figures for each of the different designs for the 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters and Presidential Dollars are now available.

The Mount Hood Quarter had 34.4 million coins struck for circulation at each facility. This is around the same level as the other four issues for this year. The US Mint indicates that the figures for all 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters are still preliminary, as production for any design may be restarted during the year of issue to fulfill demand from the bulk purchase program.
The Abraham Lincoln Dollar had overall production for circulation of 97.02 million, made up of 48.02 million coins from Philadelphia and 49 million from Denver. This breaks the general trend of declining mintages for the series. The last coin in the series with a higher mintage was the ninth release featuring William Henry Harrison at 98.42 million.

what are your thoughts on The Lincoln dollar mintages? They are much much lower than the Lincoln pennies but dont seem to be that much in demand. seems really odd with the low mintage on thease and all the lincoln collectors out there. Also any comments on the upcoming Lincoln $1 dollar coin and first spouse medal set and the Lincoln first day coin cover. Have a great holiday season!
The Lincoln rolls in the specially-decorated Mint paper might be a surprise hit. They've already sold more than the last few, and the D roll is on backorder now. That could be indicative of an early sell-out coming.
I was wondering about the Dollar Coin & First Spouse Medal Set myself. That one could be a fast sell-out, unless the Mint really ramps up production over the 2009 and 2010 sets.
Michael, do you have any idea if the numbers the Mint is reporting for those is accurate? Last week's report showed none sold at all for the Polk and Taylor sets, and also none the week before. This weeks' report also showed none sold for the Pierce and Buchanan sets as well. That just doesn't seem like it could possibly be correct.
The Polk set has been backordered for weeks, but so were the old Jackson and Van Buren sets long ago when they were actually sold out all along as we found out later. Do you think that might also be the case with the Polk and Taylor sets now, hence no new sales of them the past two weeks?

WOW, the site does look better , also a side note , 2010 Proof silver Eagle :Product will be available for shipping 01/20/2011...Hasn't everyone got theirs yet?
What I find amazing is that the previous highest mintage was Harrison yet it's the Harrison rolls that command a very high premium in mint or NSF rolls throughout the net.
I see these presidential dollars fizzling out quickly. There is very little interest any more on these proof or circulating coins. There is literally no value in the composition metal that seems to not hold up in time. I believe the US Mint anticipated a higher demand for the Abe Lincolns only because he proves to be a popular seller for them. After good ole Abe is gone. I see nothing but dropping interest in these transit tokens. Good luck ever seeing anything come from any numismatic investments involving this series.
Can anyone tell me where I can get some individual coin capsules for the ATB 5oz coins? I dont want to leave them in a tube!
Unless the mint gets busy and mints a bunch of NA dollars in December it will once again be in violation of the 2009 law requiring the mintage of one NA dollar for every four presidential dollars. YTD numbers show 75.04 million NA dollars and 347.00 million presidential dollars minted with the Lincoln dollar possibly still in production. That means that 11.71 million more NA dollars are needed plus one quarter of the Lincoln mintage since this report if the mint is to comply with the law. I don't understand why the mint ignores this very specific law at the same time it quotes other laws that it absolutely must follow as a reason for not providing highly desired numismatic coins.
The law says:
"The number of $1 coins minted and issued in a year with the Sacagawea-design on the obverse shall be not less than 20 percent of the total number of $1 coins
minted and issued in such year."
Total $1 coins 422.04 Million.
20% of 422.04 million is 84.408 Million.
